Post Mayhem Calm

June 10th, 2007 · 3 Comments · Digital Photography, Lake Macquarie, Landscape, Life, Newcastle, Newcastle Floods, Sunsets, Warners Bay

I ventured back out with the camera tonight and caught a few sunset shots over at Valentine and Warners bay. They are a stark contrast to the chaos yesterday with a strange serenity that only the people who went through the storms and destruction would really be able to appreciate. Enjoy.

Valentine

Valentine. The sky was really bizarre with the orange horizon and purple clouds.

Belmont Wharf

Belmont Wharf. Complete with the seaweed leftover from yesterdays high water level. The beauty and colour of this shot is a stark contrast to the mayhem we have witnessed over this long weekend.

To everyone who was effected by the storm, the flooding and the destruction it brought along with it, my thoughts are with you. I was lucky enough to escape unscathed other than a bit of water in my back room. Newcastle will return to its former glory and forever this weekend will stay in the history books as almost a fairytale, that unless you show them the photos, people wont believe that a massive ship beached itself on Nobbys and part of Newcastles outer suburbs were under a few metres of water. Lets hope it doesnt happen again
