Making Money Online Using The Chinese Whispers Theory

December 17th, 2007 · 1 Comment · Blog, Chinese Whispers Theory, Making Money Online

In my last post Finding The Secret To Quality Traffic I spoke about the massive viral potential that blogs have to drive huge amounts of traffic to your blog if you write posts on topics that people want to hear. If you can do this, then the huge amounts of quality traffic that will roll through your door can be big enough to break your bandwidth limit. So following on from this I pose the question - Is it possible to make money online using the Chinese Whispers Theory?

Making money online is easy, I keep being told, if you just know how. I am just a beginner at this, and my adsense account is the proof, so how do you translate the traffic into money making clicks? The potential to make money online using the Chinese Whispers Theory is definitely there, but potential doesn’t always translate into cold hard cash. I am posing a this as a social experiment to see just how far spread this can go. Currently I am at the no 1 rank on the google search term “Chinese Whispers Theory” of 71 articles. Woo Hoo. Thats not real great but at least I know its original. What about “making money online using the Chinese Whispers Theory”? I guess that once I post this article I should be number one again.

Of course for this to be legit and for the No 1 ranking to count there has to be at least 50,000 articles for your term so where do I sit without the quotes? 1st out of 44,300. Nearly 50,00 but close enough. Without alot of hard work and serious links back to me I will never get to no 1 using any of the popular searches like making money online, and making money blogging but I can get alot of traffic from people finding out what this bloody Chinese Whispers Theory on blogging is all about.

Will it go viral?? I’m not sure, possibly, but I doubt it. I am not an authority figure in the world of blogs and my link network is not very strong yet, but we will see how well the momentum builds.

The only real way I think to make a viral post is to write about some new ways that guarantee how to make money online as I believe there are thousands of people trying to make some extra cash at the moment and just dont know how. If you could guarantee a method for them to definitely create a solid income, allowing them to quit their dreary dayjob, then the world is your oyster. At this stage I dont have those answers so I will stick with investigating if I can make something go viral using my Chinese Whispers Theory on blogging.

How doI do that? As with chinese whispers in real life, you make up a story and start tellng people about it. The only problem with it in the verbal form is that as the story goes down the line it changes in detail and people add in their own twist on it and it comes out completely different at the end. I guess that blogging is the same when someone reads your post and goes off and writes either a review or an article about it in their own words and they link back to you. Slight details will be changed, but luckily you have the safety net of backlinks to you, so the original story always stays in check.

My ideas for viral story’s:

  • As per my last posts example I could claim that I slept with Paris Hilton or Britney Spears, for real punch I could say it was Paris Hilton And Britney Spears- Nah not worth the hassle of having to back it up with evidence, nor do I want all the bullshit that comes along with the Gossip mags and paparazzi following you to take a crap in the morning.
  • Make up a success story about making money online using the Chinese Whispers Theory and then selling it off as an ebook - Possible and able to be done, but damn you have to be good at lying! It would be hard to make a claim like “I make $30,000 a month just using the How to make money online with the Chinese Whispers Theory ebook. Sign up to my over priced ebook quick because you might miss out on the $300 of worthless filler crap that comes along with it.
  • Take a Facebook screen capture and modify it to take the piss out of seniors - funny but not my style. It does go to show though that humans are a satirical bunch and the more you take the piss out of someone the more people want to see it.
  • Pay some teenage kid 5 bucks to really hurt himself and videotape it, pay him 5 bucks more if he breaks bones, then post it toYoutube and put it on your blog. - funny again but I doubt I would make enough money from adsense or affiliate signups to cover the doctors bills.

The real truth is that I dont really know the answer and I dont think that anyone else does either, not how to absolutely guarantee anything. There are plenty of methods out there to make money online, there are heaps of blogs talking about making money online as well as people claiming how much they make each month from their google adsense and affiliate programs but I am not sure of how truthful they are. Until I at least start to make about $1000 month from all my sources I wont consider my mission to be complete.
So my mission is this, work on this blog over the next few weeks/months and try and turn it around into a marketing machine that will tell you how to make money online using the Chinese Whispers Theory. My success people is dependant on you my loyal readers. I will take hints and tips as well as any advice that will help steer me to the path of making money from my blog. Lets get the Chinese Whispers Theory cracking and really see what it can do. Oh and if anyone has a contact phone number for Paris Hilton, that would be great as a backup plan.

Just so you know, John Chow gives his ‘Making Money Online” eBook away for free.. Just subscribe to his website via email and it’s all yours..

It’s quite an interesting read actually. I’m about halfway through it and so far I have some good ideas about what I should be doing. Slowly I’m converting my blog a little so that the advertising is more useful, and hopefully more clickable..

At the end of the day you’ve got to be providing good quality and original content to get the readers returning to your blog…

Worse case scenario just type in John Chow, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, 3 some, threesome

    Hahaha
