I am a Freelance Photographer based in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. My interest in photography started in my teenage years learning the basics with my dads collection of 35mm Pentax film SLRs. Since the introduction of digital photography my photos have improved dramatically and my love re-ignited. Being mainly self taught through books and the internet, along with some early tuition from my dad, I am still learning the ropes I guess and will be till the day I die. I love the challenge presented to me every time I pick up a camera. I cant really tell you much about my style nor influences as it seems to change depending on the situation. Mostly I take my cues from Nature and what she presents me in the way of beautiful people and beautiful scenery. The world is such a beautiful place if you take it one frame at a time.

My first Digital SLR was a Nikon D70s that provided me with a great platform to learn about digital photography. But as my thirst for better images grew so did the limitations of the D70s. I finally invested in a Nikon D200 in June this year and have been happily taking photos with it ever since.

I mainly started pursuing my hobby as a business when I started photographing bands about 3 years ago. The challenge of dark dingy clubs and pubs added a whole new dimension to low light photography and introduced me to the frustrating world of digital noise. Photoshop is a good friend and recently I have started using Adobe Lightroom to manipulate my photos. I try to get it right in camera but as all photographers will tell you, every photo needs some tweaking. I also shoot landscapes, portraits and weddings.

Your image in the December Wyoming Wildlife magazine of a “WoW” ring-neck Pheasant is beyond exceptional. How may I purchase a copy?
